Let's Get Some Shoes

Some people are bag people. I am a shoe person. I can't stop myself from shopping for (cheap) shoes online. I have had a constantly evolving shopping cart on GoJane for quite a while now... if you pick through the hideous shoes there's some good (somewhat shameless knockoff-y) stuff. These sneakers would look awesome studded!

Yes, they're Gucci wannabes. But the heel is so high and the straps are so many.... I just might have to scoop these babies up.

I'm still debating these fake Docs you might remember from a while ago.... I can't make myself buy the real thing at full price but are these the answer?

As recently mentioned, F21 has been rolling out some great shoes lately. I could just stick some studs on these babies and... oh my god, who am I turning into?

Black substantially heeled sequined ankle boots? What's not to love!

Look, mom, you should totally spend $43 on a pair of shoes from Forever 21 because they're sooo practical! Perfect for winter, right mom?

These are like the model version of Docs... taller and skinnier!

I really need some good, basic knee-high boots and these are PERFECT! Well except for the quality, which I can only imagine....

*Sigh* This is all speculative, unfortunately, unless I get a buttload of money for Christmas....

And I know the title of this post refers to a horrible eye-gouging viral video that was quite popular back in the 8th grade. I'm proud to say I've never watched the whole thing (well, maybe) but people ALWAYS used say that whenever shoes were mentioned. Ugh!

I Like Leather, Unless It's Real

Or maybe I just can't afford the real thing. Huh. Anyway, here's an old outfit from Tuesday:


I call this the "just got my leg amputated" pose. Seriously, I don't know what I'm doing.

Wet Seal jacket. American Apparel dress. Sheer tights from Building 19. Doc Marten boots.

And the stockings! I put them one in the morning, brand new out of the package, and I took these pictures soon after. But, by the time I get to first block, the right leg has two huge runs in it! So I made a run on the other side to match. That's what I get for buying them for one dollah!

And people seem to think I should get the fake Docs in the previous post. Hmmm... of course, I'm now in love with these.

You're Hot, Then You're Cold, You're Yes, Then You're No

I'm on the emailing list of basically every online store, including Wet Seal which has lately turned out some actually decent clothes for definitely decent prices. So anyway I just got an email that Wet Seal announcing their collaboration with "the pop music sensation" Runway MMC. Nope, I've never heard of them either. But anyway, I had to check out the clothes. Most of it was indistinct from normal Wet Seal trash, but there were a few quite interesting items.

I think I might have to be this shirt just for laughs. I mean, it's really funny. And it's part of an outfit called "fashion police". Of course, I don't believe in fashion police and think people should be allowed to dress however they want even if it's ugly as hell, but that's another story. And... doesn't wearing this shirt kind of make you a fashion victim?

I actually really like this jacket. Red and black isn't my best color combination but Hail Mary says redheads can wear red so why not? It reminds me of Topshop... and that fateful Balenciaga collection, except with less classy fabric.

Okay, I lied. Those were the only two really interesting things in the Runway MMC (that's not the best name... doesn't really roll of the tongue, does it?). But yeah. Other random stuff:

OMG, I like totally have this! But wait! It's from H&M! And grey, instead of pink! Wait a minute....

And I'm just very into weird jeans....


I am extremely tired, which I guess is conducive to really random posts.

Oops... sorry 'bout that temporary absence.... I went on vacation figuring my dad would bring his laptop and... he didn't (because we stayed in a hotel instead of the cabin we usually rent).

Anyway, Susie Bubble has been featured on Urban Outfitters promoting their leg wear. The interview is interesting to read but the leggings and tights are to. Die. For.

Total Chanel ripoff but that doesn't stop their amazingness.... They will be mine.

I'm not a (total) trendwhore, I swear I've wanted lace tights since forever. But anyway, these are perfect, and I might have to check out the other colors as well.

Wait, didn't American Apparel already do these? No matter, there look better than the AA ones (i.e. shinier, tighter, LONGER INSEAM, both legs are the same length) and are all of $4 cheaper. I'll have trouble convincing my mom I need another pair, though.

Aren't these just so gorgeous?


My vacation was mad whack... not necessarily in a good way. My relatives are crazy....

Faux Layers

I was catching up with Susie Bubble, which I honestly haven't had time to read lately, and I came across her post about the label Inside Out. I took one look at the clothes she had pictures of, particularly the two above, and I was like, oh my gosh! Love! I was disappointed (but not surprised) to discover that the shirts cost $172 and $200, respectively, but still they are just gorgeous. If you trace my obsession with this type of shirt back to its genesis, you will find an ancient (well 10 months old, in the early days of this blog) a post about t-shirts with accessories printed onto them. Of course, the Wetseal ones I posted look nowhere near as nice as the Inside Out ones, but I do actually own two of this type of shirt: my suspender t-shirt from H&M and this star-print tie t-shirt from F21 (though I don't wear it anymore because it is extremely ratty).

The Race Is Back On In 3, 2, 1, Go!

Basically, stuff I want from Forever 21. Because I'm too busy/lazy to do anything else....


I've been wanting a sheer floral blouse with a black background for a while, and this one is perfect because it's even cheaper than the other ones I've seen at F21: it's only $16.


This shirtdress is basically cool. And I want it. And it's $20.


Stripes! On a blazers! How original! But still! Need!


I need black shorts. I need high-waisted shorts. So, these are ideal.

That was a long list. Oh, and Forever 21 has jumped on the organic bandwagon! Good for them, I guess....

And I'm babysitting for my brother right now. He's watching "Speed Racer: The Next Generation" (it looks pretty bad) in the background, hence the title.

Bikini Time!

This year, I've hopefully learned a lesson: Get. A. Bathing. Suit. Before. Summer. Starts. Or. They'll. Be. All. Gone. So I need to shop ahead! Actually, it is mid-May already so it's almost pool weather (and even beach weather... though the water is always frigid, thank you New England). Anyway, here's what I want:


On the Victoria's Secret website I am attract not to the miniscule string bikinis, but to the retro-inspired ones like this. And it's $52!


I'm also in love with this one from American Apparel. It's just... awesome. And $42!

Best for last!

This one from Victoria's Secret is absolutely amazing—the high-waisted bottoms and balconet top are so vintage-y. And it's only $51 on sale right now... must... have.

Other than these, in all my online shopping I didn't see any other remarkable bathing suits.... But maybe that's a good thing.

AA Overload....

Now, interestingly enough, one of my very favorite designers is Maison Martin Margiela. For some reason I just love his clothes. The SS08 collection was one of my favorites, as evidenced by my computer background:

So anyway, I was thinking about how to replicate some of his outfits on a cheaper scale. Of course, for the first half of the collection I could easily turn to American Apparel:

(I know the actual socks aren't striped, but the other ones are ribbed/too sheer and I just like the athletic-socks thing.) It only costs $115! But, when exactly would you wear such a thing? Very good point, Hannah.

Not too hard for a DIY project, no? (I like this t-shirt.) But while I can imagine completely trashing a pair of jeans to get my desktop look, the fetish-worthy sharp-shouldered jacket will be much hard to do. Though I am considering stitching some shoulder pads onto my Forever 21 blazer....

p.s. I sorta did a way less extreme copy of the first outfit today... it's not that great though.

La La La I'm So Dumb

I just ran 4 miles in 36 degree weather. In the pouring rain. In a t-shirt and leggings. And I already had a cold. Smart. But anyway....

I have been dressing horribly today. I'm waking up a bit later so I have like no time. Excuses, excuses.

I want this in black/white/asphalt. I know, more American Apparel. But I especially want the black right now.... The only question is what to wear under it. Nothing is not an option, obviously, and under the white one I'd definitely go with my silver lamé bra. But other wise... I don't think they would look as good with, say, a tank top under them. Hm. I'll have to see how low they actually are....

I also want these. I really need some black skinny jeans (and yes, I know you have these Victoria. I actually have them in a different color, just like five sizes too big). I'm actually in serious need of jeans right now. My one good-fitting pair of skinnies has, as I have mentioned before, a massive rip in the crotch. I want to get a replacement pair, but I also don't particularly want to get them at Hollister.... Plus they don't have the exact wash mine are. Wah. AND they cost $10 more than when I got them! What the hell, Hollister crack heads. And of course I also need these, once I figure out my size. And I still don't have high waisted ones (though the Cheap Mondays are pretty high)! Augh. All of my other jeans are too big. It's really annoying me right now. Maybe it's a sign that I need to start wearing jeans less. Though, I do wear shorts and tights about as often as I wear jeans. And, I'm planning on altering the Uniqlo bootcut jeans which I purchased (completely stupidly, they were the one pair of non-skinnies in the store, despite the fact that I despise bootcut jeans, partially to the fact they look like crap on me) into skinny jeans.

Oh my god, that turned into one big incoherent rant. But no school Friday!

I'm Just A Sheep

The new Kate Moss for Topshop is just in, and being someone who irrationally loves Kate Moss, naturally I thought there were a few pieces I would like to wear.

This one was an obvious choice. I'm loving prep school blazers right now.


This shorts seem pretty darn awesome. I'm not usually a big embroidery fan but here it looks good.


Not my usual style but I like it! It could be pretty fabulous....

But no way in a million years is this worth £150. That's $300!

In other news, Pete Wentz is designing a new clothing line for Nordstrom. I really wish he wouldn't. I mean, Cladestine is ugly enough. And his DKNY line didn't do much for me either.

I've been sick, so my outfits have been kind of really ehh. But track started today! And my outfit yesterday was very Balenciaga FW07-influenced. Yes. Still doing that.

Why Oh Why

I have just returned from yet another shopping trip, this time at the local(ish) mall. Atypically, I didn't go with my mom or shopping buddy Victoria and instead I went with my other friends Ally and Leslie. And we saw about 20 people from our school there. But yeah. Anyway, I got some pretty good stuff. The only problem is, I spent literally half of the all the money I have and it wasn't even that much. So basically I am poor. Time to mooch money off my mother. But yeah, I got some great stuff from (of course) Forever 21.






I also got a black cami to wear under the sheer blouse. The jacket was actually missing two buttons, so I got a 10% discount (which was hardly worth it—$3.28? But it really was because otherwise I would have gone over the amount of money I had. Plus, the buttons were super cheap-looking so I'm sewing on new ones anyway). But yeah, I have this weird blazer fetish. I obviously didn't get a real (old! so three seasons ago!) Prada turban but they had a convincing knockoff headband (in silvery gray) so I had to snap it up. Unfortunately it isn't a full-head turban, but it's still cute. And the tie-dye thing was a total impulse buy... ooh look this reminds me of [insert name of collection her that is seriously slipping my mind! Augh!], I must buy it! Even though bubblegum pink doesn't even vaguely match my hair.

And of course, as soon as we go into H&M they have all these AMAZING clothes, and I have literally $0.33 left. I really need one of the black vests, and the other adorable things I saw! Ahh!
