Every Dude On The Block Knows That You're A Trick

This post is timed. I am on vacation right now. I will be back on New Year's!

Wet Seal jacket. H&M vest. Target t-shirt. DIY bloomers. Forever 21 rings and necklace (new). Minnetonka moccasins.

I went to the mall on Saturday with Victoria and Tina, and blew the most of the remainder of my money. I need babysitting jobs!

His Mad World

On Saturday night Tina and I finally saw Twilight. Despite the fact there were only two times that day it was playing and it was in a small theater, it was sold out so we had to sit on the floor, eating the Stop & Shop subs we had smuggled in. Good times, except the guy sitting above me put his foot on my head. Twice. It was worth it for Robert Pattinson. Before I saw it, I just didn't realize....

Wet Seal jacket and acid wash jeans. Hanes semi-shredded t-shirt. Hot Topic boots.

P.S. The U.S. Topshop website is a total ripoff. Just getting that out there....

Internet Sarcasm Is Very Effective

(Minus mom)*

"Cheeto", alas, is just a little nickname of mine.

*and yes, I'm the one wearing the Pepsi hat and the cornrows. That was four years ago, and I was in Cancun! Shut up!

Questionnaire!

Thanks everyone for all the questions!

what article of clothing do you regret buying?
I generally tend to avoid buyer's remorse, but I do regret all this Abercrombie and Hollister stuff I bought the summer before high school started. Because a month later I didn't want to wear any of it!

what impulse buy are you most proud of?
I would have to say my Wet Seal faux leather jacket... I didn't know if I would wear it but I do, a lot.

what are your fave cheapo stores?
Hmm, Forever 21, Wet Seal, Target. They have mostly crap but there are usually a few gems to be found among the masses of clothes. I don't tend to have good luck at H&M though I've found a few good things there.

What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?
Ooh ooh sushi with raw quail's egg! And I've eaten all sorts of raw fish and shellfish, before I got sick from sushi and now can't eat it anymore without my stomach spazzing out *cries*. I always go for the weird foods though, oh yeah I think I had boar meatballs once. And my friend force-fed me a cookie that had been dipped in mustard in 5th grade. It was gross.

What was the first CD/tape you owned?
The soundtrack to Anastasia on cassette! I loved that movie.... Before that I had this book on tape called Two Cool Cows and I thought it was the best thing ever.

What is the one trend you wish would go away and never come back?
Thongs, and super low rise pants. I dislike both, separate and together.

Would you rather have a one hit wonder or be an extra in an epic film?
Hmm that's a hard one. Maybe the extra because it would just be cool while having a one hit wonder would be kind of sad....

If your name began with an m, what would it be?
If my parents picked, Morgan (my middle name). If I picked, probably Marly. Or something weird.

What's the number one thing on your Christmas list?
My Christmas list was very last minute and not well thought out.... =P It was probably the gift cards I asked for which my mom didn't get. I think she thinks buying gift cards is rude or something, but I'd rather pick stuff out myself.

What's your favourite subject in school?
Hm I'm more of an English/history person, but I don't dislike math or science. It depends on the class and teacher. Currently? 20th Century History (so interesting) or (sometimes) chemistry, because my class is really fun.

Are any of your friends interested in fashion?
A few are, most aren't. I'm the most obsessive of them, though.

If your hair could manage your ideal hairstyle, what would it be?
A bouffant or a beehive. Every day. Unfortunately my hair is very uncooperative.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Queen Michelle! Her wardrobe is utterly epic. I just adore it all.

Where did you get yours [Minnetonka moccasin boots] at? Did you buy them yourself, or did you get mommy and daddy to pay for them?
I got them for Christmas last year, but they were from Urban Outfitters. So yes, my mommy and daddy payed for them. =P

what WAS going through your mind when you made that face?
Wait, is my camera going, no, the battery's dead, I'm gonna be late for school, oh wait, the light is blinking, ahh, I have to check my face in the mirror, no, argh the flash just went off!

what is the most embarassing/hideous fashion item that you own, and if you had to style it now, how would you?
This orange jumpsuit from the 70s. I found it in this random church sale in upstate New York and it is hideous! It's just weird. There's beading on it that's falling off and it fits me but the legs are too short and the crotch is too low but not in a trendy way. I'll do a post sometime about it....

also, later on, could commenters possibly post articles of clothing and ask you how you would style it affordably? :D. like a styling challenge!
You are a genius.

what do you want to be when you grow up? anything fashion related?
Currently I'm thinking journalist, preferably fashion journalist, but I'm not too sure yet.

What are your sources of inspiration?
Magazines, runway, blogs, blah blah blah. Usually I go into my closet and find a piece I want to wear and then stick things with it.

If you could own every piece of one fashion collection, which collection would you choose?
I kind of want to say this, but I won't. That's the easy way out. I'd much rather have this Christian Lacroix haute couture collection, lace face coverings and all.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Rude people. Or extremely immature people.

What is your favorite book? Favorite movie?
I could never pick either. It tends to be whatever I'm reading/watching at the moment. That said, I do love the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. And The Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson was epically awesome. And for movies, I watched Don't Mess With The Zohan last night so I would have to pick that.*

how old were you when you first started getting into fashion/clothes/etc?
Hmm well I first started caring about what I wore in 6th grade, but I was obsessed with Aeropostale (why???). In 8th grade I started to get into fashion, and freshman year is when I really started dressing like I do now.

What is your height?
Five foot seven. Actually five foot six and three quarters but shhh you don't know that. I reached my current height in 7th grade, but I still dream of gaining the extra quarter inch....

What do you regret in your Freshman year?
Hm, I think I won't have any regrets until junior year when I start thinking, gawd what an idiot I was when I was a freshmannn! Though I guess I do regret not having any upperclassmen friends who made fun of me and called me "freshie", like Danielle and I do now to Red. It's my life's biggest regret.

is cheeto really your last name???
Yep. My grandfather actually founded the company that makes Cheetos, so I have a free lifetime supply.

How do you pay for things? Part-time job? Babysitting? Your parents buy stuff for you?
I babysit occasionally, and that's basically the only money I get, other than gifts. Fortunately my parents buy me a lot of my clothes (they refuse to pay me allowance or anything though).

If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Breakfast cereal. Blueberry Morning or Multigrain Cheerios mixed with Frosted Shredded Wheats, with 1% milk. I could definitely live on that shtuff.

I know you don't have school, but because of a snow day? whatever happened to winter break?
I would like to draw attention to the fact that my school is evil and we had school right up to December 23rd.

how did you do that with your jeans?!
I used scissors to cut the jeans while I was still wearing them (not the best idea, but I didn't feel like taking them off) and then I washed them, which makes them get all fuzzy on the edges. It's pretty easy!

*I'm joking, don't worry! That was an absolutely horrible (but at times funny) movie. It was really awkward watching with my family though....

I hope everyone's having a great holiday!

How We Go Is Tough To Say

I ripped another pair of jeans... now they're black ones like everyone and their mom has. Oh well, they're still awesome. And these photos are kind of a lie because I actually wore my Docs with this... I just couldn't find them until the last second and... they were so much more snow-proof than the mocs.

H&M furry jacket and vest. American Eagle tank. DIY ripped jeans (originally from Wet Seal). Minnetonka moccasin boots.

Today was a lot busier than I expected (to exemplify what a cooking fail I am, it took me FOUR HOURS to make one batch of sugar cookies with sprinkles on top, cleaning up the huge mess I made included... not to mention the fact that I had TRACK PRACTICE today....) so I'm postponing those questions a bit more.... I'm off to burn a CD por mi hermano....

And oh yeah, Merry Christmas everyone! And Happy Hanukkah too!

Let's Get Some Shoes

Some people are bag people. I am a shoe person. I can't stop myself from shopping for (cheap) shoes online. I have had a constantly evolving shopping cart on GoJane for quite a while now... if you pick through the hideous shoes there's some good (somewhat shameless knockoff-y) stuff. These sneakers would look awesome studded!

Yes, they're Gucci wannabes. But the heel is so high and the straps are so many.... I just might have to scoop these babies up.

I'm still debating these fake Docs you might remember from a while ago.... I can't make myself buy the real thing at full price but are these the answer?

As recently mentioned, F21 has been rolling out some great shoes lately. I could just stick some studs on these babies and... oh my god, who am I turning into?

Black substantially heeled sequined ankle boots? What's not to love!

Look, mom, you should totally spend $43 on a pair of shoes from Forever 21 because they're sooo practical! Perfect for winter, right mom?

These are like the model version of Docs... taller and skinnier!

I really need some good, basic knee-high boots and these are PERFECT! Well except for the quality, which I can only imagine....

*Sigh* This is all speculative, unfortunately, unless I get a buttload of money for Christmas....

And I know the title of this post refers to a horrible eye-gouging viral video that was quite popular back in the 8th grade. I'm proud to say I've never watched the whole thing (well, maybe) but people ALWAYS used say that whenever shoes were mentioned. Ugh!

And I would just like to remind y'all to ask me any more questions you have lingering in the back of your mind... don't be shy! And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, scroll two posts down.

Don't Feel Bad For The Suicidal Cats

Today is yet another snow day, despite the fact that it stopped snowing last night. Even though I live in Massachusetts, we sometimes don't even get a white Christmas; this year, we've got two feet of SNOW and it's not even January! I can't really complain, as I do love it.

I tried taking pictures without flash and I thought the effect was much softer and actually brighter in some photos. You like? The lip color still doesn't have its full glory in these pictures though... it's sooo amazing in real life!

Thankfully it's hard to tell but I apparently have elephantitis of the fingers! They're all swolen for some reason!

Forever 21 jacket. Target v-neck. Urban Outfitters pants. Wet Seal necklace and wedges.

I wore this to go see "It's A Wonderful Life" (the play version) with my family. I changed into my patent oxford heels and my feet still got all wet from climbing over a snow bank to get to my car....

And if you have any more questions, ask away! I'll get around to answering them sometime before Christmas.

Ask Me Anything

After much deliberation, I have decided to do a questionaire thing (like virtually every other blog). But anyway, ask me just about anything within reason, and I'll do a post answering you. Ask me, for instance, what my favorite flavor of Jello is, or what was going through my mind as I made this face:

Now ask away, children! Don't be shy!

American Apparel dress. Man jeans from school drama department sale. Wet Seal belt and necklace. Thrifted heels.

And look! It's the snowwwww!

Yesterday was only a half day and they're talking about calling off next week! Haha yes... I'll regret it in June.

Edit: I finally watched this week's Gossip Girl and now am in love with Chuck more than ever. Aww!

Well, What Do You Do At Sleepovers?

Clearly not as many cool things as us.

P.S. Forever 21 really upped their shoe game! Too bad I fail at making money....

Fix Me In 45

Somehow, despite having two extra hours in the morning, I managed to leave myself the exact same time as usual to get ready. Hm, funny how that happens.

Thrifted cardigan. Hanes mens t-shirt. Target leggings. Wet Seal necklace. Doc Marten boots.

I did however get a chance to try out my new lipstick and lipliner! And it was awesome. It looks less intense in these photos than it actually was, though. It's MAC lipstick in Ruby Woo if anyone was wondering, and it's totes fab-u-lous! But my outfit was a spaz (in a good way I think) I was like well I should wear glamorous sorta stuff like this cardigan and pearls and then I ended up putting on floral leggings and Docs. Yep. That sums it up.

Tehehe What Wimps!

Haha they just gave us a two hour delay, which is like the best thing ever since you don't have to make it up in the summer like a snow day. But it's funny because we got like 2 inches max of snow. Once upon a time we got three feet in a blizzard and only got two days off! But I can't really complain.

Thrifted Sonia Rykiel fringe blazer and studded heels. American Apparel dress. Three pairs of tights.

5:58

or, Make The Freaking Power Outages Stop. I was going to post this morning, I swear but then the power went out again, and I am so behind on outfits... here's last Friday's.

Wet Seal jacket and lol-iscious gothic cross necklace. Forever 21 v-neck. DIY ripped leggings and Hue tights. Doc Marten boots.

My lips are so pink because I was just at the mall and I tried on lipstick at MAC. I didn't like the color enough to buy it, though, but on Sunday I got some amazing matte red lipstick that I'm dying to try out.

But, the title. We had a practice race today in track, and... well, my previous personal record from spring track was 6:22. So I blew like 24 seconds off! It was so excited because there were five people who were really competing for the four top spots and I wasn't expecting much, but since it was so competitive I just threw myself into it and it was yayness! I tied for second, but I know I'll have to work really hard to keep that spot. But anyway... Victoria slept over Saturday night and we did (what else) a photoshoot that I'll post later.
