Wow I feel so discombobulated. I don't even know why. But anyway, yesterday was fun. It was our first snow day (or rather, ice day as there was unfortunately no snow involved). I woke up in the morning a bit early with the intention of straightening my hair, but as I turned the switch on my lamp it didn't turn on. Maybe the bulb was dead or... the power was out! And it was. It was quite exhilarating in a weird way to realize that there was no computers, no internet, no house phone, and first and foremost no lights on a pitch black New England morning at 5:45. So I basically read my book, Brisingr, (I know I'm so cool) by flashlight and later candlelight, and to make a long story short we went to the mall because it had power and was near my dad's work. By the time we came home the power was back on in my neighborhood, but the power company left a message saying that some areas wouldn't get power back for two or three days. Wow, that sucks, considering temperatures dropped to 17 degrees F last night. But seeing all the trees looking like this was fun. But Thursday's outfit:
Forever 21 blazer. Target t-shirt. American Apparel dress. Grandmother's mink collar thing. Doc Marten boots.
I realize that I really need to wear more color. I wear everything black and white all the time, gah. BUT at Zara they had this amazing dress that was kind of a blatant knockoff of this. And it was only $35! But, there were several small issues: on both dresses I tried on the slit was ripped several inches higher than it was supposed to be, the seams were falling apart and it just fit terribly. It was way too tight in the hip and there was all this excess fabric in the stomach area. So I didn't get it.
