When I was moving my room, one of the things I rediscovered was this velvet dress I had thrifted for a Halloween costume back in 7th grade.
That is a super hot photo, with me the goth and my buddy Darth Vader (it's actually Erika, not that most people know who that is!). But anyway, I put it on, somewhat inspired by the post over at Flying Saucer, and it still fit and actually looked pretty decent.
It even had some nice embroidery details on the neckline.
I then realized that I was unused to just throwing a dress on and calling it an outfit, and admittedly I also wanted to hide the, erm, roundness of my stomach at that moment in time. I searched for a blouse to wear over it to no avail, but then I realized duh! The poofy skirt I made! It was very Miu Miu...
...so I figured, why not complete the effect with my bib/fake collar thing.
Thrifted dress. Forever 21 neck thing, headband, and socks. Skirt made by me. Random ballet flats.
I'm not used to dressing this... I don't know, cutely, girlishly? But my style is all over the place so whatever. I got plenty of interesting looks when I wore this to Blinds-To-Go, though.
And later (today, probably?) I'm going to do a post at Nice and Shiny's request of how to make the bloomers (it's pretty easy, really).

that looks great with the bib and everything. the dress looks really cute on its own, too.
oh I love that
hahaha blinds-to-go! <333
that's such a Massachusetts's thing it seriously makes me laugh! and I love how I understood it perfectly. Can I just say that I really admire you for wearing the things you do here in suburban New England so confidently:) it's really something I'm working on myself.
that looks awesome! i love how it started out as just a dres, and ended up as a fab outfit! nice work.
that's so cute!
not sexy enough. outfits should have cleavage or shorter hems i think. or at least heels, geezzzz!
Wow, I love this. It's so cute.
I like that you built an outfit from that basic dress.
:)
v. Cute.
if the blinds to go people were staring at me I wouldve found some awesome blinds that werent attached to the wall and play with them so all you could see is my eyes looking at them.
Best Miu Miu adaptation I've seen!!

I completely love this, the dress looked nice on its own but I love the miu miu style. I think It's not too cutesy because the colours are very dark/gothic, so it works.
Looking gorgeous..! It's so cute. Happy Halloween…!
Oooh, I love how the final outfit turned out. Perfect! That bib thing is fricking sweet!
