Ice Ice Baby

Wow I feel so discombobulated. I don't even know why. But anyway, yesterday was fun. It was our first snow day (or rather, ice day as there was unfortunately no snow involved). I woke up in the morning a bit early with the intention of straightening my hair, but as I turned the switch on my lamp it didn't turn on. Maybe the bulb was dead or... the power was out! And it was. It was quite exhilarating in a weird way to realize that there was no computers, no internet, no house phone, and first and foremost no lights on a pitch black New England morning at 5:45. So I basically read my book, Brisingr, (I know I'm so cool) by flashlight and later candlelight, and to make a long story short we went to the mall because it had power and was near my dad's work. By the time we came home the power was back on in my neighborhood, but the power company left a message saying that some areas wouldn't get power back for two or three days. Wow, that sucks, considering temperatures dropped to 17 degrees F last night. But seeing all the trees looking like this was fun. But Thursday's outfit:

Forever 21 blazer. Target t-shirt. American Apparel dress. Grandmother's mink collar thing. Doc Marten boots.

I realize that I really need to wear more color. I wear everything black and white all the time, gah. BUT at Zara they had this amazing dress that was kind of a blatant knockoff of this. And it was only $35! But, there were several small issues: on both dresses I tried on the slit was ripped several inches higher than it was supposed to be, the seams were falling apart and it just fit terribly. It was way too tight in the hip and there was all this excess fabric in the stomach area. So I didn't get it.

She Wore Crushed Velvet, Jet Black And To The Floor

If you know what song that's from, you instantly win 1000 pts. And become considerably less cool. C'mon, there has to be some people who went through a brief wannabe faux emo faze?

Wet Seal jacket. Thrifted dress. Payless tights and heels.

I took a lot of pictures, this isn't even all of them. I really have to go get ready....

"Those Are... Running Tights?"

If you are easily disturbed, you might want to skip over the next image.
I will come for you tooonnight!
H&M jacket. DIY cropped t-shirt and skirt. Nike running leggings (who's cool!). Doc Martens boots.

I couldn't resist wearing my new leggings to school. They're fuzzy on the inside and so comfortable. And they kept my legs warm while running 6 miles in 20 degree weather, not counting wind chill. My hands were a different story.

Stay Warm, Droopy

There's going to be a high of 25(F) today! And a wind chill of -1.... Brrrr. Last week it was, like, 60. New England weather!

Wet Seal jacket. Target t-shirt. Zara pants. Doc Martens boots.

I love these pants. I think they're dhotis, like less structured versions of the YSL (correct me if I'm wrong), but they're a little dropped crotch, almost like they're several sizes too large, and they start out baggy and get skinny at the bottom. Love! Even though my dad decided to call me droopy while I was wearing them....

It's Snowing!

It probably won't stick, but SNOW! And on weather.com, there's a special weather statement! Good times, good times. We decorated our Christmas tree yesterday and it seems like winter is finally here. I love winter. It's so beautiful. Even though I don't have the highest cold resistance, I do love skiing! And running when it's snowing is so wonderful (as long as it's not snowing too hard). Now that that's out of the way, we can now focus on my deranged-looking outfit photos.

Thrifted Sonia Rykiel blazer. T-shirt from the Fonda Fair. Mom's old belt. American Apparel leggings. Wet Seal Wedges.

So anyway I finally got around to wearing my "Margiela" fantasy picture t-shirt. I've been too lazy to alter it so I just decided to belt it and wear it with my shiny leggings.

I Like To Talk A Lot

I actually do look high. I'm not sure why. All that running.

I'm still trying to figure out the lighting.

H&M furry coat. J. Crew shirt. Old Navy leggings. Wet Seal belt. Doc Martens boots.

I just got back from an epic shopping spree. I got:
From Whirlaway
-1 pair Asics running shoes (to be picked up next week when the store receives a shipment; they have this one style that's the only type I'll wear, they're just sooo comfy)
-1 pair Nike cross country spikes
From TJ Maxx, for supahcheap
-1 Nike DryFit longsleeve black top and matching leggings
-1 Reebok longsleeve gray top
-1 pair Northface white leggings
-1 pair Adidas windbreaker-type pants
and I'm totally ready for the winter track season!

You expected something exciting, didn'cha? Well unfortunately it's probably going to be a while before I actually get to shop for actual clothes. Which isn't a bad thing because I need to cut down on my spending. I only buy cheap things, but I tend to buy a lot. And I have basically no source of income. Shopping addict! BUT, at TJ Maxx I did find a pretty decent tote bag to replace my rather embarrassing Hollister tote bag I bought as an idiot freshman. Like, look at this blog post. Was I on crack? Seriously read this post. "I simply must have an abercrombie polo"....XD

Sleep Deprived

I'm still way behind, since this is Wednesday's outfit. But oh well.
Hahahahaha at my expression.
I wasn't quite ready for the camera to go off....

Thrifted capelet. Old Navy dress. Converse sneakers.

One more day of school and two more practices. Hold on, girl!
