Hannah's french manicured acrylic fake nails are coming.

Kind of as a laugh I bought a pack of fake nails at CVS. But when I put them on, I was amazed to find 1) they were so so so easy to put on, it took 5 seconds instead of an annoyingly long time like nail polish, and they don't chip, they just pop off sometimes, which is easily fixed (are the commas killing you yet?), 2) it is possible for my hands to look vaguely... clean and nice, and 3) they actually look real, which is kind of a bad thing because that wasn't the point. I wanted crap looking ones so I could laugh. I'm not a weirdo at all. I know french manicures are the epitome of all things tacky and conformist and gross. I mean, Kim Kardasian wears a french manicure. It's so 7th grade (at least my 7th grade. No insults meant to certain stylish 7th graders). So the point is... I currently have longish (not that long but longer than my destroyed fingernails could ever grow) white-tipped perfect nails. It's quite weird. I do love tacky things in moderation, and it's addicting to see my short, cracked, lumpy, dry, damaged fingernails looking all perfect and shiny. Now I'll have to find some that aren't hideous, preferably silver holographic ones. Heck to the yes.

Edit: Wholly unrelated but I just flipped a shit* at the Wet Seal customer service department via email. Well, I told them I was considering never shopping online from them again. OHH! Well it's not my fault their website said two things were in stock but then decided one of them wasn't at the last second. And the other? Well, it's still in stock on the website but out of stock in the email they sent me. What the hell? Wet Seal, you betta send me dis shit or I be realll pissed. What else will I stick spikes on? Oh yeah, your face if you don't send these to me, bitch! Alright, I'm better now.

NYC Nails

I went downtown yesterday, hoping to find at least one open nail salon in which I could purchase Russian Navy. But, as it was labor day, everything was closed. :( So instead I went to CVS to attempt to find a good (temporary) substitute. Many drugstore nail brands were slow catching on with navy and even deep purple colors, but to my elation I found a cool-looking polish from New York Colors, a.k.a. NYC: Long-Wearing (haha yeah right) Nail Enamel in Skin Tight Denim Creme 115A. It was a mid-to-dark, metallic blue and it was only $1, so how could I not get it? Now, I have purchased two bottles of polish from NYC previously (Black Lace Creme and Polyester Pink Creme) and was not impressed by the quality. But Skin Tight Denim Creme went on just as easily as any OPI or Essie would. Perhaps it was because I was already wearing OPI Nail Envy. Even so, I'm in love! Two or even just one coat shows up as a gorgeous deep blue that is metallic but not glittery (yay yay yay!). Much love!

Nailing Navy

Blue is one of my favorite colors, and it is very prominent in my wardrobe, as it is as my mom says, "my color." It looks good with my hair and brings out my eyes. I have loads of blue shirts, blue skirts, and don't even get me started on how many pairs of blue jeans I have. And now, one of the biggest trends for fall is navy nails! As far as painting my nails blue, the first time was in fifth grade with a super-sparkly true blue. Not a good look. It was tacky! The next time was this summer, when I bought Sephora polish in 55 (turquoise blue) which I put it on to gorgeous results. Now, I'm planning to try navy for fall. Right now, I'm biased towards OPI's Russian Navy from their Russian Collection, because I already got Siberian Nights and I absolutely love it, it's the perfect deep purple but I digress. Here's Russian Navy:


It looks rather purple-y in the picture, doesn't it? But here's how it looks on:

Also in consideration are Ink and Light My Sapphire from OPI's Night Brights collection. Light My Sapphire is a dark blue-black while Ink is somewhat lighter and is a purple-blue. Both have considerable shimmer.

The reason I like Russian Navy the best is it's the least sparkly and I don't really like glittery polishes that much for some reason. I'll probably get Russian Navy but I might get Ink too despite its sparkly-ness.... But the only way I'll know which one I'll get is when I get it, because I'm notorious for changing my mind at the last minute ;).
